Schools claiming to use ABA as a primary intervention |
|||||
ABA service providers | Education advocates & attorneys | Program resources |
It is important to investigate any school thoroughly. There are no laws or regulating agencies to guarantee that a school advertising "ABA" or a "behavioral approach" will in fact adhere to any standard set of practices. Many schools will include some "behavioral services" without offering anything like a full-time behavioral intervention (ABA) program.
Before you sign up for anything, whether it's with a center, a school, or an independent consultant, be sure to check the service provider's qualifications, and as much as possible, talk to other families.

Autism Partnership Primary School, UG2, Home World Provident Centre, 21-53 Wharf Road, North Point, Hong Kong China, +852-2526-3061, Principal Kathleen Man, kathleen.man@autismpartnershiphk.com, Autism Partnership School is a non-profitable, non-subvented special school in Hong Kong. It is also the biggest private registered special school which can cater for up to 64 primary students. As the only school in Hong Kong specialized in treating children with autism, we accept students at different ages and levels of functioning.
The Children's Institute of Hong Kong, 2nd Floor, Kennedy Town Centre, 23 Belcher’s Street, Kennedy Town, Hong Kong China, Telephone: 852-2812-2144 / 2816-5222, Fax: 852-2812-2145 / 2816-5229, info@tcihk.org. TCI's education program provides a full day, twelve month program for students starting at the age of three. TCI has an early intervention class for young students aged 3-5, and a primary class with students aged 5-12. These classes provide intensive 1:1 behavioral intervention services. In addition we have a transition class for young students aged 3-5 years who are being transitioned to mainstream educational placements. These students receive 3:1 intervention services. The Children's Institute participates in a mainstream transition program with an international school, and shares premises with that school. This enables a smooth transition for TCI students back to mainstreaming, when appropriate.... Educational clinics are held with teachers, parents and other family members to address any learning changes or concerns. This helps to provide consistency between the home and school environments.
